1 Need to connect from google business searches
Potential clients will search google for keywords associated with your business.
The searcher is then presented with a table of local businesses along with the contacts for that business and other associated data.
One of the data points will be that business’ website.
One of the things I tend to do when searching in this way, is to click on the website. I want to know what they do, from their own prospective.
So in some ways any business that does not have a website is automatically less likely to get my business.
2 Need to show that your business is real
In the digital age, a website is not really an option.
Imagine if you will a doctor setting up a new practice.
This new doctor secures a location to practice medicine from, gets the office set up, and hires a receptionist.
But he refuses to put a sign out on the street announcing the existence of his office.
Who will know his practice is open for patients?
3 Details matter, shows intent.
A website that announces a business properly will let your potential clients know that you are looking to serve the needs of the public.
A website should very clearly present your business to potential clients.
4 Present what your business is
The website is the primary pitch of your business in this hyper connected world.
To have a good presentation on your business online will save your potential clients time, that most important resource.
5 Make contact easy
Your website makes contact very simple for potential clients.
A short business listing can’t make available all the options that the modern client expects to find.
Your business can present multiple ways for a potential client to make contact.
- Tel contacts
- Forms embedded on your website
- Even chat
6 Let them know what your service is
Tell the world what your unique service is.
How can your business meet needs that must be met. And how your business is uniquely positioned to meet those needs.
7 Connect with current clients
Your website can keep your current clients up-to-date with your current services.
Any new upcoming services or upsells can be announced on your website, keeping current clients in the communication loop.
8 Connect with potential clients
Presenting your company properly on your website sets up a “billboard” of sorts.
That “billboard” unlike any sales people you have, does not sleep.
A good website lets potential clients know that your business stands ready to serve their particular needs.
Conclusion
27 % of new, or small business do not have a website. Of those that do, websites are often not properly focused.
No business should be without a website.
Not having a website will lead to many missed opportunities.
An improperly focused website will just waste money and time.
Your business needs to have a website that will serve the business, and effectively sell your services.
